The ICAR2016 was held in the Gyeongju, Korea from June 29 to July 3. Approximately 1,000 scientists attended the conference, and studies such as developmental regulation and plant-microbe interaction were reported. It is notable that a session on the genome editing technology was held in the conference.
The Multinational Arabidopsis Steering Committee (MASC) meeting was held during the conference to deepen international collaboration on plant research. They reported that MASC was registered as NPO to ensure sustainable operation in future. In addition, future ICAR venues were discussed. The 2015/2016 MASC report is available from the MASC web site.
The ICAR2017 will be held in St. Luis from June 19 to 23, 2017.
