Additional transposon-tagged lines are available

We are pleased to announce that 7,865 lines of RIKEN GSC transposon-tagged lines reported by Kuromori et al. ( Plant J., 2004) are now ready for distribution from RIKEN BRC. To order this resource, please follow the steps described below:

1. Search our catalogue to find the line that you are interested. As noted below, you’d better obtain more information of the line that you find.
2. Enter into the on-line ordering system on our HP. Please be sure that the page you enter is for ordering transposon-tagged lines (pst). Please fill the form and submit it so that both you and RIKEN BRC receive order information/confirmation by e-mail. Before you exit from the ordering system, do not forget saving or printing your order form processed by the ordering system for future correspondence.
3. We will send you the MTA form required for the distribution by airmail. Your order is completed after the submission of MTA and printed order forms.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

(1) AGI codes are frequently changed. Before you make your order, we recommend you to obtain detail information including flanking sequence of the line from RARGE (Riken Arabidopsis Genome Encyclopedia) or T-DNA express.
(2) The lines marked ‘In preparation’ are currently unavailable. Do not include those lines in your order. We will make an announcement at the time they are ready for distribution.
(3) Maximum number of the lines that you can order in a single fiscal year of RIKEN BRC (i.e. from Apr. 2004 to Mar. 2005) is 50.
(4) The transposon-tagged lines are categorized to genetically modified organisms. For ordering such materials, the applicants must obtain all of the permission required by any kind of regulation or law before ordering. Also, it is recipient’s responsibility to perform customs procedure for importation of biological materials. Please inform us when you need quarantine certification to import Arabidopsis seeds. Without providing such information, RIKEN BRC cannot guarantee any loss or damage of the materials that is caused during customs procedure.
(5) Although the background ecotype of this resource has been reported as No-0 (Nossen), we found polymorphisms between the No-0 line from SASSC and the parental lines provided by Dr. Fedoroff. We recommend users to use the parental lines available from ABRC as control plants in your experiments. List of parental line is available from our HP.
